5. Club and Team Eligibility

5.1 VV in its sole discretion has the right to determine whether individual Clubs and/or Club teams are eligible to enter the Victorian Volleyball League. VV has unlimited discretion to accept or reject team entries for each individual club.
 

5.2 Entry into the Premier League competitions is expressly subject to each Greater Melbourne based Club:

• entering exactly one (1) team per gender in each eligible Premier League competition; and
• entering a minimum of one (1) team per gender in the Junior Premier and/or Youth State League.
   

5.3 In addition to the entry requirements, entry into the Premier League competitions is expressly subject to each Regional Victoria based Club:

• entering one team in each Premier League competition.
   

5.4 Clubs can apply for promotion into the Premier competition for any future Victorian Volleyball League season and are subject to:

• agreeing to adhere to all Premier competition entry requirements under By Law 5.2 and 5.3; and
• entering, in the immediately preceding season prior to promotion, a minimum of two (2) teams per gender in any State League competition; and
• entering, in the immediately preceding season prior to promotion, a minimum of one (1) team per gender in State League One; and
• entering, in the immediately preceding season prior to promotion, a minimum of one (1) team per gender in the Youth State League.
   

5.4.1 To apply for promotion into the Premier competitions, Clubs must send a formal application, in writing, to VV. The application must outline:

• previous and current team entries that display the Club’s ability to meet the Premier eligibility requirements set out in By-Law 5.2; and
• current Club structure including the composition of the club committee; and
• their long-term sustainability plan to maintain and grow the sport in Victoria.
   

5.4.2 VV in its sole discretion has the right to determine whether a Clubs promotion into the Premier competitions is approved.

5.4.2.1 VV will consider each application based on the requirements outlined in By-Laws 5.4.1 and 5.4.2 as well as the Club’s recent previous history adhering to:

• Victorian Volleyball League By-Laws; and
• Volleyball Victoria Codes of Conduct

5.5 There will be no relegation in State League. Notwithstanding this, a club may be removed from the Premier competitions if the Club fails to meet the Premier competitions’ eligibility criteria outlined in By-Laws 5 & 6.
