31. Regular Player Substitution By Libero

31.1 If a team has exactly six (6) regular players and one (1) libero player remaining / participating in a match and through illness or injury, a regular player becomes unable to play, the libero player may become a regular player and exceptionally substitute the ill / injured regular player off the court. If the libero is on court at the time of the illness / injury, the regular player that the libero replaced must return to the court before the libero can become a regular player and exceptionally substitute the ill / injured regular player is off the court.
 

31.1.1 When this exceptional substitution occurs the libero player forfeits the right to return as a libero for the remainder of the match.


31.1.2 When this exceptional substitution occurs the ill / injured regular player may not return for the remainder of the match even if that player should recover.
 

31.1.3 The libero may become a regular player without changing their playing jersey.


31.2 If a team has exactly 6 regular players and two (2) libero players remaining / participating in a match and through illness / injury, a regular player becomes unable to play, either of the liberos may become a regular player and exceptionally substitute the regular player who is ill / injured off the court. If the libero becoming a regular player is on court at the time of the injury / illness, the regular player that the libero replaced must return to the court before the libero can become a regular player and exceptionally substitute the ill / injured regular player is off the court.
 

31.2.1 When this exceptional substitution occurs the libero player forfeits the right to return as a libero for the remainder of the match.
 

31.2.2 When this exceptional substitution occurs the injured / ill regular player may not return for the remainder of the match even if that player should recover.
 

31.2.3 The libero may become a regular player without changing their playing jersey.
 

31.2.4 Should a subsequent player other than the remaining libero be injured By-Law 31.1 shall apply.
