21. Significant Event(s)

21.1 Significant event(s) are non-Victorian Volleyball League scheduled matches, events, tournaments, or commitments officially recognised by VV. Significant events recognised by VV include but are not limited to:

• the Australian Junior Volleyball Championships; and
• National team commitments

21.2 Where a team (or teams) cannot fulfil the requirements of By-Law 27.1 due to a significant event, the relevant Club may apply to VV in writing using the “Exemption Request Form” available via the Victorian Volleyball League website.
 

21.2.1 The application must be submitted no less than 3 business days prior to the scheduled match for a player or players registered with the applying Club to compete in more than one (1) match during that round. The application must nominate:

• the significant event in question; and
• the full name of the player or players who will compete in no more than two (2) matches during that Victorian Volleyball League round to enable the team to comply with By-Law 28.1.
  

21.3 Player movements as described in By-Law 19 shall not be counted if any player or players are competing in a second match during a Victorian Volleyball League round due to a significant event under By-Law 20.

21.4 If players are competing in additional matches during a Victorian Volleyball League round due to a significant event under By-Law 20, the additional matches shall not count towards their total number of matches participated in for that season.
